Should Sharapova Do A Reality TV Show?
September 29, 2006
I was browsing the net when i discovered an article by Robyn George of News-Press.com with the title of the story being “Sharapova should do reality TV, not boosts”
Here’s an excerpt:
Being a reality TV fan, I thought it might be a new series featuring Ms. I Feel Pretty. Maybe her beau Andy Roddick would be on it too. Kind of a “Newlyweds” with tennis and minus the marriage.
After all, if the Williams sisters could try it, why not Maria? Her show couldn’t be any worse than theirs was. Fantastic!

Nike Wins Endorsements From Sharapova
September 21, 2006
Well, we’ve all seen the Maria Sharapova Nike ad used in the U.S Open (which she won!!) and according to Nike Inc they will spend more than $450 million this year to gain the endorsements of celebrity athletes such as golfer Tiger Woods, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.
Tennis star Maria Sharapova claimed her first U.S. Open title wearing a black Nike dress yet Nike’s stock is headed for a second year of decline and more suprisingly shoes plugged by retired basketball star Michael Jordan continue to outsell those of newcomers such as LeBron James and Kobe Bryant

Sharapova the Goofball?
September 13, 2006
Well, it seems that Sharapova has described herself as typical teenager, she said,“I’m a goofball. I’m the dork of the group.”

“At the end of the day, no matter how much money I’m making, what I’ve done in my career, no matter what cool cars or house I have, I’m still Maria, I’m still a normal girl who still enjoys life,” she said. Yet Sharapova admitted that she found parts of her life “unreal”. Every day during the New York tournament, on her journey from her Manhattan hotel to Flushing Meadows in Queens, she had looked out of the window of the courtesy car and seen herself on the billboards at the side of the road. “I say, ‘Oh my God, look, that’s me.’ It’s crazy. It really is crazy. And it’s also so unreal every time I go out of my house on Manhattan Beach in California that I own it, that it’s mine. Every time that I’m out driving my car, a Land Rover, I can’t believe it’s mine,” she said.
WTA championships : Sharapova Qualifies!
September 11, 2006
Even more good news for Sharapova as she has qualified for the season ending WTA championships in Madrid.
The Russian former world number one, who has won WTA tour titles in San Diego and Indian Wells this year, is in third place in the WTA Tour champions race with 2,727 points.
Belgian Henin-Hardenne, beaten by Sharapova in Saturday’s U.S. Open final, leads the standings on 3,473 points with Frenchwoman Mauresmo second on 2,735.
In the season-ending championships, which run from Nov. 7-12, the top eight singles players and top four doubles teams will compete for a share of a prize purse worth $3 million.
Yet another congrats is due to Maria who has played brilliantly well the whole year, and who knows..she might just win the WTA as well come November
