WTA players at the Rogers Cup fashion show in Montreal

July 28, 2008

Ana Ivanovic , Maria Sharapova , Aleksandra Wozniak , Dominka Cibulkova , Vera Zvonareva , and the trio of Elena Vesnina , Svetlana Kuznetsova and Elena Dementieva attended the Rogers Cup fashion show in Montreal. Hm, not all of them dressed up for the event, but Masha, of course, didn’t disappoint. I see that Ana’s style didn’t meet everyone’s taste, but I personally like how she looked in Montreal. I admit her dress is a bit strange, seems somehow old-fashioned, but it looks good on Ana, I like that it’s not ordinary. (source: Down the Line ) Share This

Dressed To Kill - Melbourne

January 14, 2007

Maria Sharapova will make the headlines in a few hours when she steps into the Australian Open the first tournament of 2007 because she is said to be wearing a corset dress that is “a combination of high performance and stunning style”, which they (Nike) think indicates that it looks pretty good. Apparently, it utilises ultra-dry materials “to beat the heat of Melbourne”.

Sharapova-inspired four-leaf clover for good luck, and her initials, ‘MS’.” The colours — lemon, white and black — are those chosen for Sharapova on and off the court during this visit to Melbourne. And to think we thought she was just a good tennis player.

Tennis star Maria Sharapova claimed her first U.S. Open title wearing a black Nike dress yet Nike’s stock is headed for a second year of decline and more suprisingly shoes plugged by retired basketball star Michael Jordan continue to outsell those of newcomers such as LeBron James and Kobe Bryant

September 9, 2006

The semi final jinx has been broken as Maria Sharapova ousted world no. 1 Amelie Mauresmo 6-0, 4-6, 6-0 to set up a U.S. Open final against No. 2 Justine Henin-Hardenne.

The 19-year-old Sharapova, seeded third, showed little vulnerability. “I’m not done yet,” she told the Arthur Ashe Stadium crowd. But Henin-Hardenne, who packs ferocity inside her petite 5-foot-6-frame, has won their past four meetings.
